W-LAN recognized but not working

Hi - I dont know if its really a bug but:
I am using what I think is the newest puppy (4.3X) installed on a HD (system some VIA C3? CPU 512 RAM 20 GB HD) - everything works fine more or less but:
I had WLAN connection but all of a sudden it wont open.
It finds the WLAN it receives an IP from it over DHCP, but it does not connect anymore.
Could be this happened because I tried to connect to my windows PC over the WLAN because that´ts the last significant thing I did before the connection no longer worked.
Everything works though when I boot from the DVD I installed puppy from.
Secondly I installed pidgin but its neither here nor there - except there´s a folder on the HD.
And lastly - I exited/stopped that task line network bling after that WLAN problem and dont get it again. Before that it showed a small traffic amount even though WLAN connection did`nt work...
I am usin an USB WIFI stick (some no-name "Fiber")
