Newer SMALLER version = clearlooks-0.6.2-i386.pet <--- works better
Older version = gtk2-engines_2.12.2.pet
Well this is what Ubuntu and other large distro's use and so I figure why not port it to puppy ??
basically its a gtk2 theme engine with 6 gtk2 themes
just install the package then open
Menu/Desktop.Chtheme GTK Theme chooser
and the select clear looks and set your font size at the bottom then click apply, Don't click ok or it will give you a black screen and you'll have to restartx
just press the "x" to close the application
well enjoy it, it looks nice, I like the way it gradient the tabs and progress bars and the scroll bars :)

Never tried it on 3 series just 4 series, give it a shot and see what happens? Worst case you'll just have to uninstall a very small pet package but if it does work yes you'll have gradient the tabs and progress bars and the scroll bars on puppy 3.01

So what do I need for Deepthought, ttuuxxx? Clearlooks only, Gtk2 only, both?

well it looks like in /usr/share/themes there is a few gtk2 themes, we don't need any of them. These ones replace them very nicely, also they go with /root/.jwm/themes perfectly, well with the added Chocolate theme. Also the gtk2 themes in /usr/share/themes interfere with Seamonkey and Firefox visibility and stability so really they should go. :(
like I said if they are truly missed we could adapt them later on. :)

copy over the icons from 4.2 located in /usr/local/lib/X11/mini-icons
and place them in the same folder in 4.0
a quicker way would be making a pet and installing it, saves about 200 clicks, lol
anything else you need maybe include a picture of what you want from 4.2.
