Re: What are some 16-bit non-cardbus PCMCIA WiFi cards? Subject description: To use for my old laptop
What models do ya'll know so I can look for them?
I've got a Linksys Model WPC11 ver.3 that works under Puppy 3.01 Retro. I can't test it right now, no network available, but the Puppy Network Wizard loads the hostap_ca module for it, and as I recall, it worked without any configuration when I first bought it. I just plugged it in, booted up, and did the network autoconfig.
However,on occasion I've had to struggle with Puppy autoloading the wrong module for my pcmcia ethernet card. So YMMV.
Have now run Puppy 409rc4 with the Linksys card inserted, and while I still can't test it for lack of a WLAN, I can tell you that it's supported under 409 as well.
