that's weird. okay.. I'll take a look at it today.. I probably did it wrong.. first archiving anything with puppy. I'll post here when I get it sorted out.

EDIT: Okay, there was a / in the file path that didn't belong there. NOW you should be able to just click the link and save. I tested it on windows and puppy and everything works. Please let me know when you get it downloaded properly so I know all this is working.

And I made sure the wallpapers are appropriate for all audiences. Again, sorry about that... in too big of a hurry I guess.

Talk to you soon,
Sully

thank you all for flash site links. :)

I found a classic game I really loved to play when I was a kid. It's "Frogger" http://www.thepcmanwebsite.com/media/fr ... gger.shtml

Little sized games like Pacman runs smooth on my system other games like mario and sonic run very slow. I can't understand why some flash apps run very slow on my system. :?

I downloaded WorldOfGoo and untarred the archive using:

tar -xvzf filename.tar.gz

When I go to the folder that is created nothing I click on opens the game.

What step am I missing, please?

NOTE: I am using Puppy 4.12-Normal Frugal ext3

edoc,

I'm not sure about the dependencies, but I had the same issue on a new install. After loading SDL libraries, it worked.

I'm still learning Puppy, the other thing was that I finally installed an NVidia driver and enabled direct rendering/3d accel? (I guess they are the same thing).

After those two items, Goo ran.

Make sure you have OpenGL if required and SDL (whatever that is)
also (I am sure you know this) make the program executable (right click from rox and then permissions)

Some of the flash games can be great fun 8)

I'll take a new look at all of that - been in and out and all around with OpenGL and SDL so am no longer certain what is and isn't present! :-)

libSDLttf2.0.so.0

The only SDL package needed for mega mario is this one:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... -1.2.9.pet
(Right Click -> Save Link Target as...)
After installing that it should run fine. Which SDL package did you install?

SpideyLinux solved the same Mega Mario problem with installing additional SDL libraries, see here

Anyone tried the many games posted here under 4.2?

Just upgraded two laptops and a desktop from 4.12 to 4.2

OK, the children have a more specific immediate request - SuperTux.

I have at least 4 versions - which would be best to install under 4.2, please?

supertux-0.1.3-i486-1.tgz
supertux-0.1.3.x86.package...
supertux-0.3.0-nogl-0.1.4502.x86.package...
SuperTux.pet

The laptop I'd most like it to run on is an old Panasonic Toughbook CF-27 which is WAAAY faster under 4.2 but hs limited resources: mobile Pentium MMX (System Info says 265.27MHz 531.16 BogoMips), 158MB ram

SuperTux.pet should work if you have SDL installed
Ver, 0.3 is developmental still, I did manage to run 0.3.1 from debian packages, but it needed lots of dependencies. Still, once installed it worked smooth.

I have 5 SDL's.

One includes the word "image" in the name, two include "mixer" in the names.

There is one simple SDL.pet, is that the one I should use?

I use this one:
SDL-1.2.9.pet
