Puppy 4 and Webcams

#1 Post by keiffee0521 »

i have got some very old Kits here and i would love to reuse them. They are only 166 - 233 with 64 -128 mb RAM running CF cards for HDD, and i have got them to run puppy 3.x and looking to get 4 on them.

I am looking at using one of theses as web cam server to look at the shed and garage. Is there a puppy *.PET app that i can use to use web cams and record them onto another server (Samba or NAS), or log into the puppy box vier VNC / RDC.

The app i would like / need to take pics or video of anything that moves. I have seen this in a MS app i think it was called "bulldog" and that could use up to 16 web cams and take pics of video and even make a barking sound. This would not be needed for me.

The only other this i can think that is smiler to this is a security system for home using up to 4-8 web cams. The problem i have is that i dont have £££££'s to send on this.
[b]Many thanks for you time.

This sounds like a job for Hushpuppy's Watchdog:
