After updating streamtuner in Pizza Pup, I did the same on my wife's pc. She uses Simple Pup (Puppy version 1.0.7, released Dec 2005). The console then reported I needed "libXau.so.6". I downloaded it from ttuuxxx's library site (even though it said it was 0KB in size). Now the console says:

# streamtuner
streamtuner: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libXau.so.6: file too short

Am I correct in assuming that because the library file was 0 KB that this is what "file too short" means?

Help!

I am not sure why the "0" size files are listed on that site.

Try the libXau.so.6.0.0 (7kb) and symlink it to libXau.so.6

Not sure then.
I do not use it to play local files.
When I click "Record" the files are saved to the directory that is listed there.
Mine is set to /mnt/home/music

Ok what you did is actually download the system link and didn't download the actual file. which was 7kb libXau.so.6.0.0
Thats a usual mistake by most
Usually most libs have extra "0" in the file name, those are the ones you download, then once they are on your pc you make system links, by right clicking on them and select link, "Relative Link"
I also updated streamtuner again with libXau.so.6 and system links.
ttuuxxx
Ps please try it again and report back anymore missing libs.

Ok, I am using ChurchPup 3.01 Alpha 2. The version that worked for me is the one that is linked in the first post of the thread. That would be aragon's.

Now if I could add ttuuxxxtv to my ChurchPup setup, that would be cool!

OK, here you are. Simple Pup was based upon Puppy version 1.0.7 and uses kernel 2.4.29. In addition to the libraries you already added these are the others I added:

libXau.so.6.0.0
libcrypto.so.0.9.8
libssl.so.0.9.8
libXdmcp.so.6

Hope this helps others as much as it has me. Thanks.

Aragon,

Seems Streamtuner is acting up again. But I strongly suspect Shoutcast may be to blame. I am unable to perform a "search" for any music categories. Just comes back with "2 categories, 0 streams". When I use the console to call and monitor streamtuner activity, this is the result of performing a "search":

sh-3.00# streamtuner

(streamtuner:9247): Gtk-WARNING **: Could not find the icon 'stock_select-all'. The 'hicolor' theme
was not found either, perhaps you need to install it.
You can get a copy from:
http://icon-theme.freedesktop.org/releases

(streamtuner:9247): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon for stock: Icon 'st ock_select-all' not present in theme

(streamtuner:9247): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon for stock: Icon 'st ock_select-all' not present in theme

Anybody else out there having this same problem?

Hi Yogi,

yes the search does not work for me too.

But i made a quicktest on their homepage classic.shoutcast.com: this does not work too, even if search a channel that is listed on their homepage.

Search on www.shoutcast.com does work, but this is the new one, we can't use.

so i would say: no chance for a search atm.

cheers

Hi

I had the same experience the other day,
so i did a little bit of googling and found this: streamtuner_0.99.99-15ubuntu1_lpia.deb
After opening it up, i placed a copy of the shoutcast plugin (shoutcast.so), into the streamtuner plugins directory.
It now shows all the different genre's and the search is also working. (see attached pic)

I have attached the plugin below.
If you want to try it out, place a copy of it in the streamtuner plugins directory,
mine is located at:
  • /usr/local/lib/streamtuner/plugins/shoutcast.so
You may want to remove the original one somewhere safe first,
for a backup just in case this one does not work for you.

When you start Streamtuner, you will need to click on Reload.

Just thought that someone may find this useful.
