Subject description: Error 87

Well, I started up the boot cd and tried to run it with the "pfix=ram" option so I could partition my hard drive. It kept giving me errors...after trying a few times (before it automatically failed the boot and told me to restart) I got the message along the lines of "Loading isolinux: Disc Error 87". Can anyone tell me what's up?

Here's the computer I'm using: http://support.gateway.com/s/manlib/Notebooks/Solo5300/8508144/8508144.htm
