Very nice Gray.

How about a working link for the nvidia module which would make it perfect! :)

Thanks for a nice distro.

Pulled out my old Boxpup original disc to install on my lappy to compare to Boxpup 413, and the mouse wizard doesn't have an option to enable touchpad tapping for mouse clicks. Any other way to enable this?

Hi

Yes - go to folder /etc/X11/ then edit file xorg.conf

about halfway down

change maxtap time from "0" to "220"

save exit restart X or reboot

bingo - tapping works.

Hope that helps

Regards - Ray

Looking over the messages posted to this thread, I see they
jump from Nov '08 to June '09, with none in between.

So, has a crash resulted in all messages between those dates
getting lost, or are they only temporarily unavailable? (I've noticed
similar holes in other threads, not just this one.)

If the former, then It's a significant loss of valuable information.

No, I think the main reason for the lapse is just for the fact that newer versions of Boxpup have been released since, which have had threads of their own.

I've given Boxpup 4 another go, but have removed Seamonkey and installed Firepup instead and also been careful about the number of browser windows I have open at any one time. So far it's working OK, no lockups (and I've always liked the look of it).

A brief update; sadly it didn't last (Firepup locked up on Yahoo! Weather), but all is not lost as I like the look and am hoping to duplicate it elsewhere.

Gnome-Mplayer and Boxpup would they marry ?

Boxpup is quiet perfect in Virtual machine. Audio and wireless connection work.
I grave the ISO on USB stick. Wireless is ok, but not audio, sound card is not found.
In spite of that, i would like adding Gnome mplayer, but apparently, it was not born in 2010, and the versions that i tried don't go.

.Boxpup 431 would be the best choice for 256MB

Video improved, music, and contrast now fine.
Comments in french, for our suscribers, many users are searching an OS for their 256MB RAM .. Claixtux06 trying 4.3.1, but Boxpup should please him, once he watches the video.
Linked to french forum.
Puppy Linux Lightweight OS for Netbooks and Old Computers
"If you are looking for a lightweight operating system, Puppy Linux is the way to go. It runs well on netbooks and old computers.." You Tube comments
"Most will say Puppy Linux, but personally I find Crunchbang 11 to be the best "lightweight" distro. Simple interface, but simple to use."
Debate.
Lucid run yet very fast on an old p3 with 512 ram so . I would like to do it again on another pc. Boxpup 431 would be the choice for 256MB ..to be tried.
