... or maybe upgrade to the very latest Xorg with updated intel driver.

I use latest Xorg, but I cannot use Intel driver because after 2.9 version it works only with KMS, but FreeBSD still has no KMS support. Drivers before 2.9 version don't have support for Sandy.
So I have resolution 1024x768 instead of 1366x768 with VESA..

Same problem here. I ran the 915 resolution patch .pet but got same result.

The display is working, I don't know if the above error message ("Unable to......39") is significant, but is always appears on startup.
