LXDE - Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment - For Puppy 4.x

I have compiled the various parts of LXDE and put together a PET package. I am considering this package a "Work in Progress" as there are a few things that need added to it. Any help from you guys is more than welcome.

Notes:

Need some way to build the menu. I thought it would pick up the files from /usr/share/applications, but it doesn't.

This uses PCMANFM for the desktop and file manager, but mime types are needed to open the various types of files.

To run this, install the PET, exit to the prompt, and enter "xwin startlxde"

Files:

MD5SUM: 831b7e08c4c9f5eda8e797ec90b5cbae lxde-20080801.pet - 6.3 meg

Needed libs:

Gamin - http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/jb4x4/LXDE ... 9-i486.pet
VTE - http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/jb4x4/LXDE ... 4-i486.pet

Have fun testing,
JB

What a coincedence, I was just doing some research on window managers etc and really like the look of LXDE. And out pops the package! I'll give it a try very soon.

How funny I did that about 3-4 weeks ago with the latest, Actually I used the process explorer as a patch in Macpup, Also I used the network monitor icons and made a blinky with it, just to see how it worked, then made my own blinky, actually if you look at my "Living Water" forum you'll see lxde working on the bottom of the screen and Icewm on the top,lol in the end I chosen Icewm, the reason is because I found LXDE somewhat buggy on puppy and didn't want to release an unstable window manager.
Like on the bottom left of screen shot your missing 2 icons, you can remove those in the taskbar setup, just right click on the taskbar, near the clock and you'll get a menu for it. Well good luck with it, If you get it stable enough for day to day use, send me a message, I would like to use it, I think it looks great. Also it is a branch of icewm that has been rewritten. something like an extra 1300 lines of code on top of icewm.
