Hi Wolf Pup

busy again, I see, well done

I d/l'd the puppy fancy v1.2.8 before you split it up, [left it running overnight]
however the 2.15CE is corrupt/won't run

Is there a way I can seperately d/l 2.15CE and replace it within the iso and reburn it?

This new retro one has my favourites on, so I'll probably be trying that too, once I've finished building a new box - my recently acquired 250gb [ebay!!] h/d crashed beyond recovery - darn it!!
Consequently I'm currently in windoze2K again, so only have nero - maybe I need to d/l isobuster?

do you know, or could it be done using live cd puppy?

Aitch Smile

Wolf Pup

I would like to try puppy fancy and Retro Pup.

I will be only too happy to pay you all mailing costs,
petrol ...even if it was a couple of hundred miles
to and fro from the post office....pop the ISOs on one
DVD or 2 CDs for me...but please test them first.

Paypal or Visa....cheque would hardly be your preferred option,
but I suppose I could also give you any other options you
might wish.
Add lunch to the bill..I don't care.

I can at least repost these Pups to others who might be interested.
I have tried downloading many times but it fails.
Thanks mate...great work.
If it is in the too hard book ...That's OK too.

Regards ........Chris.

Wolf Pup,

Downloaded all parts with good checksums. However, when I tried to join them into one iso - nothing! Opened terminal in the Retro Pup directory, typed "./join_retro_pup-1.02.sh" , hit enter but no response. Tried downloading the join script again, this time using Urlgfe, and I get:

Directory:/mnt/home/Retro_Pup
URL:http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/bugs/ISO/Retro_Pup/join_retro_pup-1.02.sh
Last Message:File length error. Try to increase max redirection.

Is it possible the join script is bad?

Thanks.

Hi Wolf Pup and All,

The server at puppylinux.ca has just been upgraded to apache 2.x on July 28 about 8.00 pm eastern (GMT -5).

I hope this didn't mess you up but it's all finished now.
We have a few mods to take care of but this will be fixed soon (file manager in the directories are messed up).
Best,
Eric

Downloaded the join script today and all is well. Good choices for puppy flavors. But I don't quite understand what is "retro" about them?

Tried Retro Pup 1.02 this morning this is what happened...

says 'Loading Stage 2 Gnu Grub 630 lower 1046016 upper

MINIMAL BASH-like line editing is supported for this word, TAB lists possible command.Anywhere else TAB lists the possible completion of a device/filename

grub>'

What could cause this? Bad burn?

Attempted on HP Pavilion dv8219ea, 1gb ram, Intel Centrino Duo, nVidia graphics card.

Hi, tried the new Retro Pup 1.03 just now. I can only get the memtest to load - so upon investigation I've uncovered the following ( so far) :

Chihuahua Retro - the directory called in the menu for kernel/initrd/psubdir is chi302a6r, on the cd it's chi302a6 (missing r)

The initrd's on the root of the cd don't tally with what the menu calls. eg in the menu initrd.gz2.12, on the cd it's initrd_g12. Same problem with the other 2 initrd's.

Should there be a zdrv_202.sfs? I'm relatively new to this so I do not know.

None of them have been able to find their respective pup files, maybe related to the initrd problem, the startup is looking in all the hard drives for them - I shall investigate further, by modifying the startups from within grub.

reborn

l8r.. Fire Hydrant looks for pup_301.sfs on cd it is pup_301f.sfs.

I'm not having much luck with this one, I even put them on the hard drive to try, no joy.

Yes, checked out. I'm downloading again - maybe corrupted burn, if it is it'll be the first. I'll report back later.
