http://easytag.sourceforge.net/

requires mp4v2 package since I compiled with mp4 support in lucid Puppy 525.

Note that the guys on the mailing list have been keeping bugfixes in a Git repository and have now got control of the easytag website. It may be a good idea to build from Git, although I haven't got around to it myself ;)

Also note that there is a major bug (unless somebody fixed it, which I doubt): it cannot display embedded cover art in 1d3v2.2 (IIRC that's right) tags, and renders them invisible to all software, without actually deleting them and reducing the file size. Many (all?) mp3s originating in itunes have this version. Older versions of easytag do not have this problem, although they kind of have the opposite problem because they can't see the embedded album art in id3v2.4 tags, or the other fields whose names have changed in v2.4 (i.e. the year field).
This is unless one of the libraries has been updated to fix the problem, without me being aware of it ;)
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

Seems to work ok in Racy Puppy 5.3, except it wouldn't start from the Multimedia menu. I had to start it from a console.

Hi Flash.

If you are running into such issues you should have a look at the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications.
/usr/share/applications/easytag.desktop wrote:Exec=easytag %F
I have found that there is mostly something like the %F that does not let the application run from the menu - just remove this and it should run from the menu.
