soundtracker-0.6.8-i486.pet uploaded(WORKS NOW)

#1 Post by cb88 »

Soundtracker is a sound tracking program for making customised music. it is also my first dotpet i am rather proud of it when it first start you must click ok for it to create a directory for it to work in it won't do that the next time you start it.

since there is a prebuilt dotpet there is no need to compile it yourself

For those who want to compile only

If you want to compile it yourself anyway go here http://www.soundtracker.org/download.php3

download the latest source and extract it to you /root directory

you will need the compiler for puppy go here and read about C++/compiling http://www.puppylinux.com/hard-puppy.htm

then open the folder right click to open a menu on the pop up menu click >>window>>terminal here

type ./configure
the type make install
then type soundtracker
if it doesn't run go to /usr/local/bin and click on it

sorry ran as follows:

./configure
make
new2dir make install
completed that script and continued to dir2pet without stoping

a 490B .pet was created way too small I renamed it to .tar and it is practically empty I am trying to fix it the program runs fine on my PC with only 300mhz 64 ram likely works on much less if i can package it.

I just tried the .pet in Puppy 4.0
It needed libgdk_pixbuf.so.2 to work
I got it from http://www.puppylinux.ca/tpp/ttuuxxx/Libs/
Then all was good.

Now I am playing all those good old Amiga soundtracker music modules (mod files) in a native Linux program. Yipee!

Thanks CB88 for making the pet
I tried compiling it myself and it all went haywire.
