opera-10.10 shared-qt3

#1 Post by 106498 »

Here is a package for opera which uses shared qt3 libraries rather than bundled ones (also wrongly now known as static). Apparently qt3 is more stable and faster, and also I made a package a while back for a qt theme which makes qt3 applications look much nicer. I'm not sure if this will work with qt4.
Other than this some non-essential bits 'n bobs (including most locales) were removed to make it smaller.
Qt + opera ends up being smaller than opera with qt bundled!!

Opera (7.3mb): http://www.tdem.co.nz/linux/files/opera ... 3-i386.pet

Extra locales (2.9mb): http://www.tdem.co.nz/linux/files/opera ... ocales.pet

Qt3.3.8 + Polymer theme (3.3mb): http://www.tdem.co.nz/linux/files/qt-polymer-3.3.8.pet

Install Qt + Polymer first, then opera.

Additionally I made a package for flash 10. This needed some libraries which are included in the package, please check if you will overwrite any existing libraries by installing this!!! If so, don't install, unless you know what you're doing! (Or ask first).

List of files flash will install:http://www.tdem.co.nz/linux/files/flash-10.text

Flash 10 + libs package(4.5 mb):http://www.tdem.co.nz/linux/files/flash-10.pet

I am really impressed with opera 10 and flash 10. Even my old computer can now access youtube without crashing or freezing. Some video's play smoothly too! This has never been done before!!!

Hope it's useful for someone.
