You are really close... Your gtkdialog 0.8.3 is basically working, but misses the latest features included in version 0.8.4.

I also see issues with the gtk-theming, but that's minor... maybe just try another theme.

Thanks for trying. We are also learning. If you ever continue the process, please let us know.

Thank you @zigbert for this New Year's Present!
It looks wonderful.

I was surprised to see it is not in Bionicpup64.
It should be in all standard Pups.
It is totally Puppy:
small, feature rich, economical... it's even beautiful.

THANK YOU, zigbert! It's a very nice surprise for the new year.

I've only just started to use it - will probably be back with questions.

Great to hear you like it - I do my best ;-)
pMusic is built to fit as the default audioplayer, but it is up to the Puppy builder to decide which player to include. Humans think different, and that is much more important than Phil will use my player as the default choice.

It has been my daily player for several years, and fits my need. If you have any personal wishes, please tell. It is impossible for me to understand how other would like it...

Hello Zigbert

I'm trying to use your great app, pmusic to play through a bluetooth headset, i'm on fatdog and the default sound card is bluetooth. PMusic only sees hardware. What do you advise?

beautiful application.
I listen to the radios and find great pleasure in doing it.
Since I try to download the songs that I like, (with invidio.us) the only thing that should slightly expand the space where the titles of the songs are reported (under the cursor) because sometimes if the title is long it comes cut.
thx

I have no knowledge about bluetooth, and wonder if pMusic has anything to do with this. pMusic sends audio to default alsa device (or chosen device in the preferences), so I would guess alsa needs to connect to bluetooth in some way. If anyone has knowledge about this, please step up. If pMusic should be configurated in some way, this is important. Sadly, I have no bluetooth device to test...

I am glad you like the app.
If I understand it right, you find the playqueue (green field to the right) too narrow. Because of limitations in gtkdialog, the width is hardcoded to 350 pixels. This can be changed in the small frontend file - /usr/local/pmusic/frontends/Manager
See line 29... set the width to whatever you like.
You won't see the changes before pressing 'OK' in the preferences.

I would really like to see a solution to make this field scalable, but atm, I don't know the answer.

many tkx,
I join a shot where in red I highlight the space where the title of the song is reported that if very long the final part is cut.

Thank you for the screenshot - it makes it all clear.
Cropping of filename in the statusbar is not done by pMusic, and it leads us to either streamripper which is the backend for this info or the radio station that broadcast the meta-information together with the audio. It is hard for me to tell which one of them are the troublemaker based on the example you show (as it doesn't seem to crop this particular song). I probably need to reproduce the issue to look deeper into it.
But,
- it would be logical to set a max limit of chars to boadcast for a radio-host, as the info is meant to show up on internet radio devices which often has limited screen.
- Streamripper supports version 2.3 of the metadata container ID3 which may holds some limitations of tag-length.
