Buddapup Dingo

#1 Post by Roger Hunter »

Hi;

Bootup problems seem to be my lot in Linux.

I downloaded Buddapup Dingo, burned the iso and booted from it.

I get a screen that looks like Dingo but has a row of HD partitions along the bottom.

Nice but not Enlightenment, which is not mentioned anywhere in the menus either. Neither is it to be found in the desktop backgrounds.

Suggestions?

Mine is a multiboot system with Win98se, WinXP and a bunch of Linux distros, mostly Puppy variants. Thypically, I have to shut down to reboot from the menu as it stalls at starting the kernel otherwise.

there is a post about that in this thread . http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27737
on the first boot you have to kill x with ctrl+alt+bkspc and restart it with xwin enlightenment_start to get enlightenment going.

Oh, THAT'S how it's done!

It worked.

But then I couldn't get it to reboot.

Always something.

Roger, to reboot just crtl-alt-backspace again and enter reboot at the command line.
