I am on Puppy 4 installed on Flash drive. The Combo Format option was used since the normal partition setup doesn't work on my setup. I have a 128 MB FAT 16 partition with the puppy files and another 1 GB ext2 partition.
I have downloaded the openoffice sfs file and placed it in the 1 GB partition. I do not see any option to load the sfs file during boot. The personal save file is also in the 1 GB partition and this is recognised.

A related question : If I use the remaster CD option, will the Openoffice SFS file be included if it is in the other partition?

Did you try the Bootmanager (menu)?

have you added _400 to OpenOffice filename? like

openoffice2.4.1_400.sfs

so Puppy can automatically recognize it

I'm not familiar with the combo format, but I've never had a problem if I put the Office sfs in the mnt/home directory.

If you open rox, go up a level, click mnt, and then click home, do you find your sfs? If not, try copying it to that location and see if it loads.

Setting the boot manager to load the file is very important.
