Oh, and is there a comprehensive list of games that are available for 4.0?

I know there is this for the dotpup's, but don't know about 4.0 pet files that are specifically a games list...

...but I did see this:
Top 10 Mini Games For Puppy 4
and that's pretty good. Am interested in big games too, before I start compiling myself...

I've been playing Nethack lately. It takes a good while to get the hang of it, but it's pretty fun. Hard. I haven't gotten deeper than level six or seven yet, at least not voluntarily (stepped on a teleport trap once and was warped down to level 12, where I landed in the middle of like ten monsters who made very short work of me Laughing

Just installed puppy on a 4gig usb-stick so I installed nvidia and like to test it with a litlle 3d game, I downloaded AssaultCube and extracted it into a maded folder games into my documents I had to make the assaultcube.sh executable, I went into a console cd to the file and did
./assaultcube.sh wich showed me that 2 libs (libsdl-1.2.so.0 and libGLU.so.1) where needed, I found them (renamed the libGLU.so.1.3.070001 to libGLU.so.1) on http://www.puppylinux.ca/ttuuxxx/Libs/ ),
dragged them into /usr/lib and it directly worked fine.
I guess that sauerbraten will run the same, so you can put two more games on the list.

Subject description: Savage Full Enhancement

Savage Full Enhancement is a good game to play on puppy.

You can download the game at:
http://notforidiots.com/SFE/

After an hour of searching for the libraries for the game, and the right driver for my graphics card, it runs really smooth on my desktop.

On my laptop, I first got a white screen when I boot up the game. Apparently, this means that either my graphics card is not good enough, or my graphics card driver is not up to date. So if you get the white screen, just update your driver and if your card is good enough for the game, it would probably run.

The easiest way to install something in Puppy is to find out if there is a pre-made version of that game/item already for puppy...these are called .pet files (occasionally .pup files). So you might find out the name of the game, then search the forum for the equivalent pet file or search the server at puppylinux.ca and perhaps others can give other suggestions.

In lieu of that, if you check each of the links provided for each game, you'll most likely find instructions for installing to Linux. Puppy Linux can be installed to in that way just as any Linux version can, but each of those is game/case specific. Have fun with Puppy and welcome!
