Puppy 4 detected DLink WNA-1330 PCMCIA wifi card

#1 Post by Rave1 »

Just a Quick FYI for everyone :
Puppy 4.00 autodetected my DLink WNA-1330 PCMCIA wireless card and
connected with no problems after the WEG code was entered.

Rave1,

Can you please provide more detail on how to achieve this result? My attempts with a Toshiba Tecra 750DVD laptop yield a dead WNA-1330 card, even with loading an NDIS wrapper with two different windows drivers (both of which work in windows ok)

Oh yes I did mean WEP code sorry it was late.............

I really can not elaborate on how I got it to work it just did .with no effort on my part.
The laptop has Ubuntu Hardy Heron installed on the HD and the wireless card is working on that OS. As I said Puppy 4 detected the card and it worked the only problem is that it cannot seem to remember the WEP and I need to re enter it at every boot if I want to use the wirless.

Sorry I can't be of much help

I put the D Link WNA 1330 into an old Compaq 1700 that has Puppy 4.0 installed on HD and nothing else.

My result was the same Puppy auto detected the card and it simply worked.

Sorry that others are not having the same luck...

Sorry to bring this back from the dead.
I just got a laptop (cheap) and it has the same D-link.
Seems to work okay except the WPA is a little funky and doesn't remember after reboots.
Seems like wifi0 also comes on the screen and I don't know why.

I can't connect to my home computer with Samba, although Samba does work when I use another laptop.

Any help here. Thanks
