where are you from ?
Paul - born the year after the transistor was invented - that makes me 56. Born in Holland, lived in the states (several of them actually ), Germany and finally Sweden for the last 30 years.
I'm retired and live with my wife in the beautiful Swedish countryside many miles (or kilometers ) from the nearest city, surrounded by forest, with chickens, a rabbit, a couple of Shropshire sheep and geese (our lawnmowers).

I'm 17, and I now live in semi-urban southeast USA. I grew up on a farm in Minnesota, though. As a result, I'm a wierd melding of oldskool and modern stuff. I love computers, but I don't trust them farther than I can throw my old 30 lb monitor. I also listen to everything from country to disco to new-rock. When I get through college, I'll probably head back north, but for now I have to finish good old highschool.

I commented on a similar thread a few months ago, but I'll add my contribution.
I'm 48 (49 in December), but I try to act anywhere between 18 and 28 most of the time Married 12 years with a 9-year old son. Born in Seattle, lived in Montana, South Dakota, Louisiana, Alabama (where I met my wife), Illinois, and now Idaho.
Since Pizzasgood mentioned music, I'll add my own tastes. I listen to everything from folk (Carrie Newcomer) and country (Emmylou Harris) to Sinatra, U2, Elvis Costello, and Dave Brubeck and Duke Ellington. No rap (although I do think Eminem has some ability) and almost no American pop (is any other music as bland?). That's enough for now.

Now that you point it out to me, the answer seems painfully obvious.

The topic was "your day job," but also served as a sort of introduction to various forum members.

How come I didn't do this before?
Hello All,
As you may know, my name is Oswaldo, and I live in Lima, Peru, South America.
I discovered Puppy a few months ago (@ version 1.0.4) and right after 1.0.5 came out, I was blown away!
I think it's so cool, I'm using it even more than my default XP home desktop.
If I could find a really good AutoCAD 2004 - compatible Pup package (and maybe even getting SAP 2000 to run under Wine here), then I could completely ditch Windows. Oh yes, I'm a civil engineer, 40 , still single.
I like Puppy so much I'm starting to translate it to my native language. I may even show it to the local PC World editor, that much I like it!
Warmest greetings from Lima,
Oswaldo Bellido
