Crazy. It works with the dvd burner in my Aopen which uses a NEC dvd drive
but not in my Packard Bell Easynote laptop model a6. Don't know brand in that one.
But here is the crazy thing. Pizzapup does load in both. PP a dvd+rw while p4 a dvd-r
Most likely there is something with the burnt dvd-r for puppy400
so I could test to burn a new one but pizzapup works despite being
a less recommended format. So what is going on?
Pizzapup are based on puppy 2.14 isn't that less modern than Puppy 4.00?
The reason me ask is cause I plan to do a frugal installation on the PB laptop
(Pizzagood, no hard feelings I hope. I'm a noob ok?)
So I get dual boot as Lin'nWin describes it and
if pizzapup is Puppy 2.14 then that is not as good as Puppy 4.00?
So should I burn the Puppy400 dvd again?
I did a work around so I see this thread as solved
I have one dvd-r for one computer and a dvd+rw for the other.
Less problem. KISS

Hello nooby
First, did you check the Puppy 4 iso with the md5sum??
Second, although older, Puppy 214 is considered by some to be the most tested
and stable Puppy in the litter. newer doesnt always mean better. Personally, I find
215CE to be the most stable. Sometimes older is better.
Third, some machines have problems booting from some media formats. As Puppy 4
is only 87 mb, a DVD isnt really necessary. Although many here prefer a DVD to a CD
for Puppy, I always use a CD-R for my Puppy`s, and it has always worked fine.
Perhaps, try burning the Puppy 4 iso to a CD-R and see if the offending machine will boot from that.

No I am a noob, I have no idea how one does such things. I learned to burn iso
just a few days ago. Puppy being the first I burnt.
Alixe linux from which I write now I burnt some minutes ago and that one just worked.
But Grafpup did not load at all. Tried three times so you could be right. I should do
check sum but I have no clue on how one does it in BurnCDcc program in windows.
Could you give me a hint on such?
