yes it's very fast for what it does.
regarding pfind:
pfind does some things, locate is not able to, for me most important for me: search inside files. you could do that with cli-tools as well/faster but i'm used to use pfind.
so everything has it's pros and cons

Yes, Pfind is a great tool because it allows you to "do something" with the files it finds.aragon wrote:seaside,

Perhaps Pfind could use Locate for simple quick searchs for files where one is basically only looking for just file names and further actions when they are found. Then use Find and Grep for "advanced searchs" only.....
A definite "have your cake and eat it too" environment
seaside, maybe a good idea for simple file-searches. you could pm zigbert, he's the pfind-creator.
