Hi Joe,
Well for now I'm not setting up ftp accounts on the new .ca until we run for a few months with the new server. I'm keeping the 2 servers separate.
I may go with a setup like MU uses and have a public upload area but no decisions on this yet.
For now .asia is where all files go and then I'm moving them manually. This will change in a few months as well when we do crons etc.
I guess my point is I want to be stable on .ca and then we can expand.
Best,
Eric

Does this support .3gp format from mobile phones. Gxine in puppy will currently play them but with no sound, and there is no autolaunch

Hello again
Thanks Big Bass for your reply
| Quote: | packages are logged in /root/.packages
that's a hidden folder
so click on the eye to see it
the installed packages have a * .files
and that shows you what got installed

I've just had time to look into this again.
Looking /root/.packages I found the *.pet files had simply been copied there still with their extensions and icons.
I deleted the *.pets from there and downloaded your latest release to my data drive and tried again but the same thing happened. PetGet recignises the file as a package and offers to install it but then seems to vanish leaving a copy of the package file in /root/.packages.
I'm probably doing something stupid but I've installed flash player and a typing tutor programme and they were simple leaving files where you say they should be and working first time.
Thanks for trying to help
Will

You say

I am using 4.1.1 as it seem to run very stable on the system I have it on, would there be any differance?

Hi Will,
i don't think you've done something wrong. this is a bug in petget, that has problems with installing packages from a directory with spaces in the path (like you have in windows).
the workaround is simple: if the pets are copied to /root/packages but petget does not install them, klick on them again (in /root/packages), to install. petget will give you a message, that the're allready installed, but as we know, that's wrong. Simply say 'install again' (i don't know the exact term right now) and installation should now work as expected.
hope that helps.

Thank you, aragon.
That worked just as you said and Mplayer is now working fine. I'll remember that point when installing any other packages I might need too.
Bye for now

Big Bass ,
I like your mplayer version but not plays all the codecs (like some 3gp) . I can only use your version in my pc because the XV crashes and the X11 that you use have scaling and not crash .
How I resolve the codec problem or compile other version with all codecs and X11 scaling driver.
