Hello thank you for the last answer and thanks in advance for these possible ones:

1) For the video chooser on start up (XORG or XVESA), I intend to make a simplified version in french or spanish for a school (teens in the morning adults at night) and truly, I'd just would like to reword things to make it easier for inexperienced users (ie "for an old laptop choose Xvesa")
Does anybody know how to edit this file prior to remastering ?

2) I have been tweaking the skin Vista-ish (Linvista) for XFCE but after getting the right sepia colors I hit a tremendous hideous bump: The drop down menus are still the same color (see attached jpg)
I believe I have to edit the color palette file in the skin itself but my problem is that I cannot find a color code list for equivalences because something like "F8F8F8" could mean any color
Does anybody know how to edit the color palettes for Xfce skins ?
File types: Gtkrc (I am guessing)

you can find many french translations here:

Do NOT install it!
Rename it to .tar.gz , then extract it to a temporary folder.
Some files are specific for Muppylinux, like the bootmanager, as Muppy uses "msy" instead of "pup" as filenames.

Also look for TouTou-Linux, Puppy en francais.
