Puppyisos.org - now PASSWORD! |
|
If you want to download from puppyisos.org, you now must enter a user and password (two times).
User: puppy
Password: linux
I have ongoing abnormal high downloads there, within a few days 1/3 of my monthly traffic was used.
I hope the passwords help keeping that down.
Mark

it seems to work...
DAY Uniques: Pageviews: Hits: Transfer:
Today 3 1057 1100 9.43 MB
Friday 38 13305 19859 347.04 GB
Thursday 56 3023 9242 321.73 GB
It is back online since 5 hours.
3 Uniques cause over 1000 pageviews - obviously a script attacing the site.
As it is protected by password now, just 9 MB of traffic were created (I wonder how a protected site produces traffic, that will remain a secret of servages "intelligent" traffic-counter
Well, lets not be happy too early, the traffic-counter has a delay, so we will see, if it works over a longer period.
But yesterday already after some hours the 347 GB were reached, different to today.
So it might work now...

Why are you so surprised, Mark?!
Success brings new challenges.
Dingo has shot up to fourth on the DW charts
and I've been telling everyone to d/l Muppy.

I took your advice and downloaded Mini only to find that like other versions of Puppy Nvidia drivers were missing. Have posted elsewhere seeking location of PET as attempting to copy the pet over from another DVD did not work.
Could Mark include the drivers as a matter of form as no doubt others will experience the same problems as me.

wget to download from puppyisos with user name and password |
|
For those wondering how to use wget with username and password, use this command in console:
| Code: | | wget --user=puppy --password=linux URL |
where URL is the URL of the file you want to download. You can highlight a URL (from text editor or browser) then press SHIFT-INSERT in console to insert it in the command line.
