Which Net Books work well?

#1 Post by purple_ghost »

I have thought of buying a Net Book and wonder which hardware is really un-usable? Such as can not see display or can not touch type because the keyboard is too small? Which ones have short battery life?

There is not one store where I can look at them side by side, so I thought I would ask. Thanks for the info.

I have an eee901 - good battery life & quite usable. (I'm grandpa vintage). Some distros claim to use all its toys, but tweaking/patching required.
I use it with Puppy 4.1 (with some tweaks) on an 1 gb SD card. Also works with Mandriva 2008, Fedora 8 live and Sidux 2008.3, off a 4 gb usb stick.
