exaile+shoutcast radio+aac+extended information

#16 Post by robwoj44 »

Exaile works, good job but shoutcast radio stations, aac, extended information do not work. I added gnome-vfs-2.18.0.1-i686.pet and the dependencies and gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs_0.10.20-i386 from debian and shoutcast radio works! But the problem that every 10-20 seconds the sound is broken...I do not know why. It seems that in gstreamer there are not aac faad decoder too. I search python-gnome-extras to extended information too. Apart this problems it works very good:-)

I solved the problem of shoutcast radio stations:

The same solution works in exaile.

To change from root to user spot, type this:

"spot" is a restricted user of Puppy.
(you could also add fido, rover, rex!)

/root/spot is spot's home directory.

To change from root to user spot, type this:
# su spot
# cd ~

Or, do this:
# su --login spot

Note that spot has been setup to not require a password.
You can confirm that you are indeed now spot:

# whoami
When you have finished being spot, type this:

# exit

-------------------------

User "spot" is currently used in Puppy by DidiWiki.
See the script /usr/sbin/didiwiki-gui, which is run from
the window manager menu, in "Information managers" submenu

our disk-jokeys failed to play newest version until now

#20 Post by Pelo »

That is right, Musher0, but our disk-jokeys failed to play newest version until now. Excepted the brave Precise Puppy 5.4.3 retro (and our national ToOpPy based on it.
However vicmz plays old version. I was checking if we could reach his efficiency, with old version.
I worry to fail with old version too.
To get all these juke-boxes overhauled is not easy, but they could get our funky music lovers back to our Puppy dance-floor. They are less sad than our dozen of compilers trying to get puppy back to Trisquel or OpenSuse, and failing , and Rockers, Rappers, or folk singers are thousands, :!: at least. We prefer boogie woogie than wheezy jessie :)
PPM failed to download all dependancies, that is no be noticed.

Vicmz plays it in spanish

Vicmz plays it in spanish, perharps if i set may Precise to spanish, todo se va bien ?
Version 0.2.13 splash... what a labour to get some fun to Puppy Linux passengers, to get them again on board.. Everybody is working at it !
I start a new pupsave for tries with exaile from the past.
:) i Will use a spanish version of Puppy to get some help from amigo Nilson Morales, because english help desk is to busy with new puplets.
