Issues with the way events are logged in Puppy 3.01

#1 Post by Irihapeti »

I might not even have noticed that Puppy 3.01 handles the logging of events differently from 2.17, were it not for the fact that I use the logfiles to keep track of things. E.g. the length of time my dialup is connected, and what the firewall is doing.

I have the computer clock set to UTC, because I've only got Linux on it (Ubuntu plus 2 Puppies at the moment).

Looking at the 3.01 logfiles, I see that some processes use local time, while others use UTC. Anything kern.(whatever) and syslog.(whatever) use UTC. The others are local time.

Is there any way this can be fixed? Apart from anything else, it makes logs harder to read when the times are jumping around.

Thanks
