Minimal Puppy

#1 Post by acklan »

How far has anyone gutted (stripped) the puppy down? I am interested in stripping it to where it is only the OS and the basic tools, like DHCP/static, GUI GHTTPd...I want to make a version with the OS and Apache 1.3 only. I want to configure it on the PC, burn to a CD then boot on my server machine. That would include FTP, HTTP, DNS (if needed), or any other files that would be hosted. The idea would be if the RAM DISK were corrupted all that is needed is to reboot and you would start fresh. No need for anti-spyware or anti-virus. This should make is very quick on even a limited machine, and headache resistant.
Any ideas are welcome.
FYI my Web content is only 50mb.

I was wondering if there's some way to clean up /usr/lib/locale which looks ...pretty big.
