litter-o-pup with mosix

#1 Post by marshalquest »

would it be possible feasible to have a puplet patched with open mosix?
pup already works so well pxe with a cluster-o-pup how fast would pup be.

Not that much faster really as alot of pups apps arent really over intensive enough computing wise to warrant running over multiple macihnes and as for a pupget.......considering we are talking about a new kernel and some other stuff I doubt whether that would be feasible and I doubt whether the average user would really notice that much difference, but as a purely academic exercise it would be interesting.

Clustering is not a solution for all problems. It is a solution for a specific kind of problem: When you can take chunks of a process and split them among multiple processors in paralell.

For a single user computer it may actually slow down things as interprocessor communication is slower than intraprocessor.

Actually, even in dual processor systems, some applications will not perform as fast as in a single processor.
