Hello, I'd like to know how puppy users do to scrobble songs to lastfm?
I'm using wxMusic and I think someone managed to do that here:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?do_Details=1&ID=1865
but I'm not advanced enough to understand what to do.
Otherwise, I'd be happy to switch back to amarok if it's easy to do.
Thanx.

So? There's no scrobblers among puppy users?

not true
there are probably not many wxmusic users though
I think I used one of the xmms dotpups that included a lastfm plugin
http://www.dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/ though I'm not 100% sure that I got it working properly.

http://www.dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/xmms-1.2.10/xmms-audioscrobbler-0.3.6-libmusicbrainz-2.1.2.pup
but could not find any lastfm or so plugin, any hint?

I assume you installed xmms as well as the plugins
http://www.dotpups.de/dotpups/Multimedia/xmms-1.2.10/xmms-1.2.10.pup
it doesn't come with a menu entry so you will need to create a .desktop file for it or just run it from the prompt xmms. If you run it from the prompt you will see some missing dependencies that stop some plugins from working.
Tthe scrobbler plugin won't start in puppy 3.01 or derivatives because it is linked directly to libcurl version 0.3 and they ship with libcurl 0.4 this can be overcome by
Code:
ln -s /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib/libcurl.so.3

restart xmms you should find it on the general plugins tab
thanks for making take the effort to set this up

you might also be interested in shell-fm for listening to the radio streams
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27805
and lastfm proxy
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=27948

I've just got audacious from the same stable scrobbling as well
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=135496#135496
It is a fair bit fatter but more shiny. I had tried with it before but didn't realise that the missing curl lib was what was stopping the scrobbler plugin.

glad it works
Can you edit the subject line of your first post to include "solved" at the end. When you look at the first post you should see an edit button in the top right. This makes it easier for people searching the forum for solutions.
