Working nicely in puppy 2.xx thanks....great for worms
Just curious.....The binary is double the size compared to the 0.63 version available for puppy...is this due to compression being used or is there a lot more stuff in there?
regards
mike

Probably is just all the changes in the binary. 0.63 to 0.72 is quite a leap in version #'s.

I tried WINE first with a little success, but dosbox does exactly what I wanted with very little overhead. The GUI did not work for me, but I really don't need it.
Thanks!

Sub_title: How to get a menu item? |
|
Wolfpup,
Great little pet! I like it so much that I included it in my own puplet: Tipsy Puppy (now in version 4.1.2).
There are a couple of things I couldn't get to work, though:
1. No menu item. My puplet, based on NOP, uses the xfce environment, and it would be very nice to have a menu item for dosbox.
2. Dosbox gets confused finding Timidity++ through alsa. I had to make a dosbox.conf file in /root, and then add config=128:00 in the [midi] section. I think it would be easier if the setting were already in by default.
Thanks!

1. You'll have to install dosboxgui for the menu entry to show up.
2. Dunno what timidity++ is

I think that this url is better.
http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/bugs/
There is an error message on Puppy 2.0
| Quote: |
# dosbox
dosbox: error while loading shared libraries: libSDL_net-1.2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
|
So, I used 'ln -s libSDL_net-1.2.so.0.0.5 libSDL_net-1.2.so.0' to use symbolic link to the library file.
