Hi. I installed lucid Puppy 5.2.8 to the hard drive on a Dell Latitude D600 laptop.
It worked fine a few boots and now it gives me a scrolling error message with about 20 lines repeated. The purple line says :
If X failed to start, type "xorgwizard" to setup X
How do I stop the scrolling so I can type xorgwizard?
I've tried ctrl-c, ctrl-F1 to ctrl-F12. Nothing stops the scrolling except ctrl-alt-del and that reboots. I can run puppy off the flash drive and it works fine. I tried reinstalling it several times but now every time I try to run from the hard drive, on bootup I get the xorgwizard error.
I installed Tahrpup 6.0 but that is too slow to view youtube videos. 5.2.8 runs fast enough to view youtube videos - this may have something to do with the different versions of Chromium.
I am not comfortable running off the flash drive because it's only a matter of time before I break off the flashdrive moving the laptop around.

get xorgwizard error on 5.2.8
what kind of install..
if frugal then pfix=fsck
if full boot live and fsck the install partition.
use ext3 rather than ext3 for either.
Tahr seems to have a lot running in the background but then lucid does too but it could be other factors..eg graphics driver...flash version.... older xorg likes your card more.... do you notice a cpu difference playing moovies?

I was going to tell you to make sure you have Lucid 5.2.8.005.
You may want to try the newest version Lucid 5.2.8.7

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
