etree_scripts-pre-3.2 - perl scripts for lossless audio Sub_title: + shorten-3.6.1 & shntool-3.0.7 |
|
Here's the etree-scripts web page:
http://etree-scripts.sourceforge.net/
This is an unofficial July 2007 release of etree-scripts with some bug fixes since the 3.1 2005 release.
The perl scripts that will install to /usr/bin/ are:
cdfill
flacify
makehbx
make-toc
md5check
shn2mp3
unshn
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What the scripts do:
cdfill - given a list of WAV and/or SHN files, calculate the
maximally-filled CD layout for them. If --rename is specified, the
files are renamed to look like <prefix>d<n>t<nn>.<suffix>. Doesn't
take into account breaking up jams or segues
flacify - Convert an etree-compliant directory of SHN (or FLAC)
files into a well-tagged set of FLAC files.
makehbx - Convert an etree-compliant text file and set of SHNs into
an XML file suitable for use with the Hillsboro XML Recording
Archive specification http://www.catchen.org/hillsboro
make-toc - spit out a table-of-contents file for cdrdao from the
current directory of WAV files or from a list of WAV files on the
command line
md5check - recursively check md5sums on a directory tree.
shn2mp3 - Convert a directory of losslessly-compressed audio files
(SHN or FLAC) into a directory of lossily-compressed audio files
(MP3 or OGG) with useful tags. Uses textfile parsing logic from the
Etree::InfoFile module to parse info file stored with the SHN files
to get information like the band name, venue, track names and
recording source.
unshn - convert Shorten, FLAC, OGG, or MP3 files to WAVs for burning to CD.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This package also includes the following Perl modules:
Audio::Wav
Data::Dumper
Digest::MD5
Digest::Perl::MD5
Etree::InfoFile
HTML::Entities
IO::Handle
Cwd
POSIX
XSLoader
This was tested in Puppy 4 but it may work in previous Puppy versions unless other Perl modules are missing.
These scripts make use of the following packages:
shntool (posted below)
shorten (posted below)
flac
metaflac
lame
oggdec
oggenc
cdrecord
md5sum

The original unshn script calls mpg123 to decode mp3s but I edited it to use lame instead. This package is unnecessary for the revised etree scripts but I'll leave it here anyways.

Applied my fix to the unshn script to use lame and added the Audio::Wav perl module to the etree_scripts package.
