I am transitioning to Pclinuxos from Linspire 5x (which I am reluctant to let go of) for my installed os. I boot all of my pups from cd with a 500mb pup save file on the data partition. The Dell laptop has reached the age where it can't remember how much ram it has, it consistently remembers the first 250 mb but frequently forgets the other 128 mb. It was free, and otherwise runs fine. I just like A4, all the others seem to be plain vanilla after A4. I can run A4 on all of my other pc"s tho. After I back up my pup files I am going to try booting A4 from a LHC cd and see what happens. Not knowing what files pup may want, I copy all files from the cd"s to the hdd. Most of my time, so far, has been spent setting up all the different pups and Pclos. I need to spend some time getting more familiar with linux in general and Puppy specifically. I have too many pc's, if there is such a condition. Thanks again, for all your work and time. Our time, is the greatest gift we can give.
Cheers

Thank you.chintoi wrote:Hi, tazoc! Good work out there!
Have you tried Control Center | Regional & Accessibility | Keyboard Layout | check 'Enable keyboard layouts'? There are 3 tabs with many options on that panel.Special thanks for good cyrillic fonts (original puppy has few and ugly ones) and KDE+xwindows.
1 more good thing: i finally got my sound card to work!
One single issue by now: switching keyboard layouts with keyboard buttons don't work. i.e. i enable Xkb, press set buttons but layouts don't change
