How to do an image-copy of HD with Puppy? Subject description: Backing up your system with dd or other tools. |
|
Hello everybody.
Since I recently purchased a 500 GB external usb HD, I decided to do an image-copy of my (internal) HD to restore my system in case of future troubles..
I have Ubuntu and it has a tool named "dd", which seems to be perfect for this kind of work.
Do you know if there is such a tool in Puppy?
It would be great to make image-HD-backups on low-end machines where a (X)ubuntu live CD won't (or will hardly) run?
For example I want to mess with my mother's old PC (put Puppy on it) and It would be nice to be able to restore it back easily in case she doesn't likes it

Try Menu>Utility>Pudd (which is a Puppy frontend to dd).
