Vectrex emulator Sub_title: Great video-gaming fun...
Remember the vector-display based game console from the early 1980s called the Vectrex? The graphics were monochrome and vector-based, similar to say the arcade game Asteroids.
There's a Java-based emulator called ParaJVE written by a guy in France. I installed the Java 1.6 PET... http://puppylinux.ca/bugs/java-1.6u3.pet
and then downloaded the Linux version of ParaJVE here: http://vectrex-emu.blogspot.com/
I found that I have to turn off the default display of overlays... but once I do that the emulator runs perfectly on my Puppy 3.01 machine (a Compaq Presario X1000). Sounds and graphics work well. By default it uses the arrow keys and the number keys 1/2/3/4 for input. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the program to recognize my Logitech Precision gamepad...
The download includes about two-dozen legally-release ROMs. Enjoy some old-school video gaming! I find the default game of MineStorm to be a really nice take-off of Asteroids.....
