krecspk/wrecspk updated - less screen real-estate GUI.
Ebookspk fixed - sorry, I messed up the last dotpet
Sorry, I dotpet packaged Ebookspk very late last night and made a mistake (put in the wrong location for the executable, so the JWM Menu unfortunately won't have been able to load it). I've now fixed that, created a new dotpet and shifted the control buttons around a bit so that the pause button is visible when the ebook text pops up.
I've also re-uploaded cmdspk with the control buttons moved around in the same fashion.
You'll need to re-download it from
http://wiakapps.freehostia.com/downloads.html
I've left them with the same version 2.0.0 number though.
You'll also need muggin's required dotpet's for espeak (espeak-1.30-i486.pet and portaudio-v19-i486.pet), which is available from forum thread:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=25046
Let me know if these work on your system, if you don't mind. If they don't I'll do my best to look into it.

tar.gz versions of wiak apps for other Linux distributions
I've created generic tar.gz archives of wiak, ebookspk, cmdspk, and wiakdevelop for those of you who would like to use them on other Linux distributions than Puppy as well. I only use Puppy Linux myself at the moment, so I haven't been able to test them on anything else. However, they should work. Wiak itself doesn't have any dependencies and the others just need gtkdialog, Xdialog, leafpad and geany.
The gtkdialog GUI's are so simple in wiak apps that it is almost trivial to re-write them to use a different GUI toolkit if necessary (indeed, its just as easy to modify them all to run on the commandline only).
You can find the tar.gz files at the wiak download page.
It would be useful to know if they work outside of Puppy Linux, though there is a good chance they will. Do let me know if you can. I do have a copy of Ubuntu coming eventually, but that may take a while...
Oh... I also added a bit to the wiaktutorial on the website, showing how to write the "hello world!" program with the new UNIX System V message queue mode. There is more detail about that in the new wiak manual page too.

Wiak has had babies: the thin tiny TWIAKs.
Hot on the heals of the previous release, after a solid day of slog, here is another somewhat major release before I really do head off on a camping trip with the bairns.
If you use it or plan to, upgrade to the main version 2.1.0 apps strongly advised.

New version of wiak (version 2.2.0) and the twiaks now available for download as well as a new app (krecspk) for the visually impaired (see first post on this thread for details).

wiak 2.2.0 last minute alteration, sorry
Sorry, I discovered a relatively harmless bug in the newly released ver 2.2.0 wiak, so I quickly fixed it and reuploaded a short while ago (Pacific Standard Time 4:15pm 1Feb08).
It is advisable to replace the earlier one if you have it. I modified the man page also because the --up wiak option is now "depreciated" (i.e. it will be taken out in the next version because its original purpose is no longer relevant).
In order to save me a hell of a lot of minor documentation changes, I didn't change the version number (its still wiak-2.2.0)

Version 2.3.0 of krecspk now released
New krecspk version.
See announcement at top of this thread for details.
Note that krecspk provides the commandline/hotkey client for the mp3 player/recorder whilst wrecspk provides a GUI client for those using X.

Remember to unmute you mike and turn the input gain up...
Forgot to add help item m for "mute" espeak to the original 2.4.0 dotpet and tgz of krecspk. I've now added it and re-uploaded (same version number though - saves me changing a lot of documentation!)
Remember... if you want to record sound using krecspk (or any such app) in Puppy Linux you should check your microphone or whatever is not muted and that the volume is high enough. For example, in Puppy 2.17.1 my Menu->Multimedia->Puppy sound mixer volumes are set as follows:
master: 72
pcm: 100
mic: 100
cd: 100
input gain: 100
Depends on the sensitivity of your sound card of course.

wiak version 2.3.0 released, plus most wiakapps upgraded
"Wiak (plus wiakmv and wiakf) has had a major upgrade to version 2.3.0. As a result of the under-the-hood changes, most of the wiakapps below have had to be upgraded for compatibility since the older versions will not work with the new wiak (most of them have been given new version number 2.3.0 to match wiak). Note that wiakrecord and morfi have also been upgraded to version 2.3.0 (wiakrecord now uses SysV message queues with the result that the program now starts up almost instantly). Wiakrec301 and wiakdrec301 are no longer supported"
