xine-mms plugin could someone please compile for Puppy

#1 Post by john biles »

Hello Everyone,
I know this plugin would be of use to alot of user's who want to listen to Internet radio stations that require the mms protocol. From web searches I found this tarball that needs to be compiled. I also found info on how to make firefox open this format with different mediaplayers that have this plugin installed.
See this link for some interesting info http://www.gagme.com/greg/linux/f8-tips.php

So if someone could compile it for Puppy 2 series and 3 that would be good.

well I had a try at it, but alas was defeated! gcc is complaining that the developer is using a struct member, metronom, that isn't declared, or is wrong type etc. A quick google showed that there are quite a few posts, reporting this problem. I'm wondering if I downloaded latest xine-devel & xine-ui if it would make a difference.

I see on freshmeat that new versions of mozplugger & mpayerplug-in are released:

John,

I don't think the problem is with the xine-mms code, but rather how gcc, or at least how gcc-3.4.4, deals with stucts. I'm sure I've run across this before with some other app, but I've forgotten how I got around it.

Hello to muggins and everyone else who is trying to get the plugin working, thank you for spending the time on it. Hopefully someone will have some luck with compiling it in the end, so we can all use it. :D
