Some more JWM themes.
Hi everybody!
I really like using JWM as my default window manager. I found your exchange site and really like some of your work! I had previously made several new JWM themes on my blog, and I put out a new theme every Friday. I hope it is okay if I share that here.
For instance:
Batman
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-6/
Iron Man
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-3/
Superman
https://alaskalinuxuser.wordpress.com/2 ... -friday-4/
Tron, Hulk, and others. Feel free to leave a comment, use the themes, or convert them into the "pet" format you use and share them again here. I use Debian, so they are all jwmrc files.
Thanks!

JWM Themes.
Greetings.
I have been making JWM themes for a while, but on my Debian computer. My most common visitor, however, seems to use Puppy Linux. Is there a way to convert the .jwmrc file I use into a (forgive me if this is wrong) dotpet file you all can use?
I just started a series on Street Fighter, and I would like to be able to share it with the most people. Thanks in advance. Also, if this is the wrong thread, please point me in the right direction.

Hello, alaskalinuxuser.
I believe that I can say -- for myself and for all Puppy-ists -- that you are
quite welcome to share on this forum anything Puppy-related, even if it's
only a minor element of Puppy, such as a jwm theme.
And if it's not Puppy-related, you can post on this forum too, because we
have a large, sometimes serious, sometimes zany , Off-Topic section !
Our only condition is that you'll have to thoroughly try out at least one
Puppy Linux variant in the coming month and write us a 100-page book
on your experience before Xmas! (Just kidding! Now where's that tongue-
in-cheek icon?) (I hope you have a sense of humor?!)
Welcome aboard, alaskalinuxuser! Keep those jwm themes coming, too!
Bye for now!

PS. Concerning the Puppy-fication of your themes in a *.pet archive, I
wouldn't worry too much about it. I think that archiving each theme in
a regular zip file will be enough. Just add the mention:

You can download these windows 98 icons that are ico file format and convert them using gimp to png and make a theme, I don't have the time right now to do it, but its pretty easy you just name them the same as the matching ones in the themes.http://files.alexmeub.com.s3.amazonaws. ... _icons.zip <-- win 98 old school look 635 iconsjss83 wrote:Just want it looking really retro. The one you posted looks great, where I can get it, the theme, icons, the whole thing please?

The icons took a bit of time on gimp, ico files contain 2-6 images so you have to delete 1-5 images and just keep one, then they weren't the right size so I had to resize them also and then save them, I also had to find just a couple extra's that weren't in that link.jss83 wrote:Wow these are nice and big. Thanks so much!!
Which theme is that? GTK+JWM?
GTK theme = Gradient-grey
JWm theme = Stardust_dark

Glad you enjoy it, lol I remember the old windows 3.1 days, When Windows 95 came out, I was actually against moving to 32 bit OS, lol I found it slower and more resource hungry and full of bugs, wasn't as stable, But then after protesting for a couple of years, lol I upgraded and really liked it, Then windows 98 came out and it was so much better than 95, Much more stable and handled hardware a lot better, Then windows Me came out, It felt and looked more refined but boy talking about Blue screen of deaths issues, lol Then Windows XP Now finally I was happy with XP, new look, ran great , a hell of lot more stable than Windows ME, Then Long Horn/Vista, Extremely bloated, not very stable, resource hungry Crap, That's when I said enough time for something new. So I went out and found Puppy and never looked back. Only time I use Windows these days is on my wife or daughters laptops for 3D Printing, They are still stuck in the world of windows, lol As for the old windows 95/98 Icons look and feel, well funny that, as soon as I made the pet I instantly felt at home with it, Usually new icons take a bit of time to get used to, Not this time, funny that after all these years I can just jump back to using them, Retro icons are pretty cool.jss83 wrote:Thank u so much for your hard work. found 95 look theme too.

Updated my JWM themes links.
Hey all,
A few days ago, someone pointed out to me that my links on this site for my JWM themes were old and dead.
I haven't worked on JWM themes in a long while, but I still had all of my old work on my machine. So, I zipped them all up into one zip, and put them back up on my website and media fire.
There are around 20 themes from Batman to Ryu to Guile, and Winter, Fall, the beach, chocolate, etc... The zip contains the background image I used as well as the .jwmrc files and the screenshots. Some of the folders also have the .conkyrc files too.
Here are the new links:
Media fire, direct download of all 20 themes:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/3kg00npd8 ... themes.zip
My website JWM theme fridays: Has screen shots if you want to know if it is worth downloading the zip file.
https://thealaskalinuxuser.wordpress.co ... me-friday/
Anyways, this is an old thread, but for any lurkers still out there, have at it and enjoy if you can use them!
I'm sorry, I don't hang out on this forum anymore, so if you have a question or comment for me, you will have to jump over to my website to contact me.
