I have used the Puppy Modem Wizard to detect my US Robotics 2973-OEM PCI hardware modem on com port 3 (ttyS2) but the modem is not detected. It does work in the Puppy 2.17.1 disk i have. Is there any solution.

Some Linux distros i've tried will not detect my modem in live mode but will detect the modem when the OS is installed to the harddrive. Its hit and miss.

I've tried a number of different Linux distros and normally if i have a problem like this i just move on to the next, but i really like the features in Lighthouse and would like to keep using it.

even though the modem-wizard doesn't detect your modem, have you tried saving it, and then seeing if it works?

i know that my external modem is on ttyS0, but the wizard doesn't detect it, but if i save it anyway, it works. it's what i'm using right now with pup2.16.
