I was going to put that into pup 1.0.5rc, but there is a bit of work involved in moving it out of /root/my-applications to /usr/local or wherever in /usr.
So maybe the author of ticker004 can do that?

puppyPDF was easy to relocate, so that is in 1.0.5rc.

and here it is. I used turma to replace the path in all the files Smile

Now everything goes into /usr/local/apps/Ticker
Click on the icon will run the app

Headlines downloaded will be saved in the /root/.ticker folder as hidden files.

And two symlinks are made:
/usr/local/bin/ticker (older version with cleaner gui)
/usr/local/bin/ticker2

Minor improvement: Cancel button removed (just click the cross to close)

It should work the same as v0.0.4
ticker005.pup
Description  ticker.app ver 0.0.5 (installs into /usr/local/apps/Ticker)

I found that it may be better to have the program make the directory /root/.ticker everytime it runs (if that directory doesn't exist the program won't work).

So I've added a line:

mkdir /root/.ticker

in /usr/local/apps/Ticker/AppRun

and uploaded this new version (v0.0.5a).

Please use this rather than the one above Smile
