Me too!!
Hi
I've the same PC and same problem, to solve that I did the next tips:
first configure your audio card => menu => setup => ALSA sound wizard and keep the steps... (intel audio-card bla bla bla....)
Well, when the wizard displays the message about is running a sound test and you can't hear anything, go to a console (on the desktop) and type:
alsamixer <enter>
will display all audio channels of your PC, with the cursor (arrows from keyboard) displace to the Front channel (Front) and up the volume with up-arrow. Now test your audio card opening an audio file.
Hey, check the mp3 codecs coz maybe are failing, thus change it...
Good luck
(Sorry my english....)
