SSHFS

I have created a package for SSHFS (a filesystem on top of SSH File Transfer Protocol using FUSE) which facilitates enormously remote work as one is no longer limited by the device free space: you can securely mount using SSH your home directory on a remote computer and work directly on it as if it were a local filesystem.

This said, what should I do with the package next? How can it be added to the package manager list or made known to others? I hope this is the right place to ask.

BTW, next will be R and Rcmdr (the project I have in mind is to have an "Scientific Puppy" at least for Bioinformatics which is my field, so more tools will come afterwards, and of course I intend to maintain them.

Thanks.

I'd snap up the package you have for SSHFS, anyway... just what I need. Any chance of posting it here? (I expect it works with Puppy Linux 3.01?)

Please post some info about a package as new message here.
Upload it and send me a pm, then I'll add it to the repository at dotpups.de.

Details:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 9400#99400

Or upload to a temporary hoster like mentioned in that thread, like rapidupload.
Usually others or me then will grab it, and add it to one of our repositories.

I personall prefer if you upload via ftp to my repository, then files are easier to move for me to the final location.
Temporary hosters usually are slow or have other limitations.

thanks, Mark

I apologize for the thread necromancy, but I'm looking for a PET package for Slacko, is there one available somewhere? I've already looked into a few ftp servers but couldn't find it.

Otherwize I'll attempt to compile and package it myself, but I probably won't have time to look into it before September.

Thanks!

Here is a PET for sshfs. It has had ZERO testing, so please provide feedback. It requires libfuse, but most Puppies have it.

There is an older package here that has been confirmed to work.
