How about Bugzilla? It's specifically designed for this purpose.....

How about Bugzilla for bug tracking/reporting?
Reading some related history will reveal the folly of such a suggestion, as well meaning, logical and self-evident as it was.
Good luck convincing the powers-that-be, fanbois and blind faith brethren.

I've read that and understand it. I accidentally created this as a new topic rather than a reply to ecomoney's comments about bug tracking for the next CE. And then (this is embarassing) I thought that I had deleted it.BarryK wrote:yes, please read "how the puppy project is run":

I wouldn't dream of even trying to convince Barry. As for the others; I'm not sure who they are.alienjeff wrote: Reading some related history will reveal the folly of such a suggestion, as well meaning, logical and self-evident as it was.

I have no brief for this specific bug tracking application, but ecomoney seemed to be looking for suggestions. Bugzilla may well be completely OTT, but it has all the necessary functionality. Presumably it's configurable and the more exotic features can be de-activated or by-passed.
