Puppy has hidden features: Alsamixer is an extended mixer which unlocks the Audigy 2 controls. It is command line only, so open a terminal and type alsamixer.

The commands are a little cryptic:
The arrow keys allow the hidden controls to be seen.
With the numlock on the + - keys change the volume.
The m key mutes or unmutes.


These 3 controls needed setting for mine to work in 2.16
1. Master volume - the default is zero! Set this with + key.
2. Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack - unmute with m
3. Analog Mix, the cd output may not be heard without this being set with
the + key
