you need to dload the .ppd file for your printer from here:

http://openprinting.org/ppd-o-matic.cgi ... 535&show=0

& save the file to your /root directory. then dload & install cups from here:

http://puppyfiles.org/dotpupsde/dotpups ... l-v0.3.pup

then cups will "grab" your .ppd file & a window will open with info on how to add your printer to cups. in case it doesn't work first time, don't delete the cups .pup file as it's an 18M dload.

Hi, thanks for answerig my problem. Please be patient beacause I m gona need more than a little help here. I downloaded both archives acording to you cups-install v0.3.zip and hp deskjet 3535 hpijs.ppd. They were copied to /root. Then I unzip cups and I extracted all the files to /root too. The I don t know What to. Sorry for being so silly.
If you could detail me a little more I would be very thankfull.

it shouldn't have been cups-install-v0.3.zip, but rather cups-install-v0.3.pup. just rename it to cups-install v0.3.pup, then click to install.

you could probably get the printer working for the lexmark, but i don't know about the scanning side. openprinting.org suggests using the lexmark z600 driver for the X1195. it's a bit more involved than with your HP. see here for more info:

I got to this link
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Lexmark_Printers

There are, like many other links you passed me, many codes that I don´t know Where type them. This is really necesary, Is there any other way?. Remember that I`m using puppy linux 2.12

Gracias

Somewhere on your desktop (most likely at the top or down the right hand side) there will be an icon named something similar to "rxvt", "terminal", "xterm" or "console". This icon usually looks like a flat-screen monitor. When you click on this icon a mostly blank window with

Code: Select all

sh-3.00# (followed by a black square)
will open. Enter the code here.
