Problem resolved.

I sent an e-mail to PayPal, but nobody responded. Then this afternoon the entry form magically fixed itself. Sent off a donation as a bit of encouragement to Barry to keep up the good work.

Good on you mate...it would have been easy to give up
and leave it for another day.
All power to you and I'm sure that BK appreciates all
any any coin of the realm.

A useful link, Dingo, as I just sent off a donation through your page.

I installed Puppy Linux 4 Friday, I guess it was, on a new computer that had an inferior OS installed (not one from Fort Redmond; this machine has no Windows, no Microsoft, and it won't, ever). Got the Pup more or less running late that night. On Saturday, I discovered the joys of Pnethood, absolutely the best networking interface I've had the pleasure to use. (We keep most of our files on a Windows 2003 server in the basement. Ms. Eggdog insists, fairly enough, that I refrain from installing any alien software on it.)

The next day, I downloaded an OpenOffice squish package, and it works. Then I got a Firefox, which for some reason is called "Bon Echo," but it works.

I got this baby up and doing what I need to do in, basically, a couple of hours. Couldn't ask for more.

Does he still want donations if he's retiring from active development? If so I will add a button to my website. Also will he still be selling CDs?

I would think that donations would be welcomed. There have to be ongoing expenses for the Puppy community, forums, wiki etc. With all of the north american puppy users, I would think that a north american mailing address, p.o. box would be useful, helpful. I have just recently become active in the puppy community, and don't know how this is currently being addressed.

Barry And Eric- www.puppylinux.ca deserve donations, Eric by far pays the most for his repo and has the highest overhead, I might not agree with a coop but I do agree the www.puppylinux.ca does have on going cost like no other member and should be given donations, and that the server usage that eric allows all of us as a community is very generous of him. Thanks Eric

Resolved.

ttuuxxx...I want to move the .ca project into community control including domain name ownership.

I also want a core to handle donations...and not to me but where ever money is needed. It may be needed for a new computer part for a developer or space on a high end server or help with someones costs for school...this is what a co-op can do.

Not quite the response I had hoped for, can we please try to address the topic rather than the individual posts. Puppy is a great os and the only one of it's kind. It is the work of many that contribute what they have to contribute. In my case, I appreciate all of the effort that made puppy available for me to download and use. I don't have technical knowledge, or even experience to contribute. Still, I would like to be a part of and contribute to this great endeavor.

@Bligh,

sorry about that...it's just growing pains.

I would donate to the Puppy Linux project. IMO, it's a great project and it's so fast and portable, and it has none of the bloat that the main Linux distros have.

When I used it at first, I was like "Bleh, the GUI is horrible!" but now, I'm using it every day and saying "Goodbye KDE/Gnome, hello JWM".

DSL vs Puppy. Who is the winner? Puppy. Puppy booted quickly, as DSL hung on modprobe probing my laptop's USB half-a-dozen times.

Actually, when I have a spare few dollars (say $10 or so), I'll donate. I would love to see this project continue and make it a rising star of Linux Distros.

Western Union?

Hope this helps.

It's not the size of the donation , it's the thought.
Puppy is the only freebie that I donate to.

Chris.
