ISO Master is an open-source, easy to use, graphical CD image editor for Linux and BSD. Basically you can use this program to extract files from an ISO, add files to an ISO, and create bootable ISOs - all in a graphical user interface. It can open ISO, NRG, and some MDF files but can only save as ISO.
Run via Menu->Multimedia->ISOMaster

I found that I had made a mistake (not a big one) when I re-built the dotpet as a pupget. I didn't include the keyword and icon so that it shows up in the menu. Since isomaster has been included in the last several versions of puppy, installing the pupget that I posted above just overwrites the previous installation. However, just for accuracy, here is the same file with keyword and icon data:

Hello

New version is out. Will you update the package(s) please? There aren't a lot of new features but I think it's worth doing.

Thanks in advance.

here's isomaster-1.2, compiled on pup216. Added to first entry.

Plus added isomaster-1.2-pup1.08.tar.gz, as an alienpackage, for pup1.xxx user.

Hello again

ISO Master 1.3 is out now. Not a huge release but I think worth repackaging, when you have a chance.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Thanks WhoDo,

I saw Mig21's post & uploaded the .pet, & was going to add a comment, but got sidetracked by something, or other. I'll upload a 1.xx version tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it.

Can't make bootable iso (of Puppy)

muggins,

Thanks for mainitaining the isomaster pet. I can't make a bootable iso (of Puppy remastered http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=31001)

With the boot.cat file selected in the iso I clicked the bootrecord menu and add. Then burnt the iso closed with Burniso2cd. Result: a non-bootable disk.

Run makeisofs from the command line and burn. Result: bootable disk. Interesting that makeisofs needs to know ablut isolinux.bin as well as boot.cat.

Is there a way of testing an iso before burning it?

Hi Zygo,

AFAIK isolinux.bin is standard on puppy .isos. I just mounted puppy 2.16 .iso, & it has:

Code: Select all

# ls /mnt/hdc
boot.cat initrd.gz isolinux.cfg vmlinuz
boot.msg isolinux.bin pup_216.sfs zdrv_216.sfs
If you've got qemu installed somewhere, it's useful in letting you know whether you've got a bootable .iso, or not:

Code: Select all

qemu -L . -m 128 -cdrom xxx.iso
[/code]

Uploaded v1.3.5.
Release focus: Minor feature enhancements

Changes:
The Danish translation was updated. The .desktop file now complies with current standards.

Five people downloaded the 1.3.5 version, before I re-uploaded it. I inadvertently had a duplicate menu item. Just use the package manager to remove the previous version, and replace with the current one.
