IBM Lotus Approach with puppy Linux 4.2
IBM Lotus Approach with puppy Linux 4.2
Hi every body ! I am brand new to Linux. I have started out with Puppy Linux 4.2 and liked it instantly ( I once tried version 3.01 and gave up on linux as being too complicated ). However I have not been able to find out how to install IBM's Lotus Approach in Puppy Linux 4.2. I have some old database programs written in Lotus approach which I would like to run in Puppy Linux 4.2 also. Is it at all possible to do this ? I would be very grateful if somebody could help me out.

You will need Wine (to run Windows programs)

Approach runs

You could try Open office.
To see if they can be imported.
I used IBM Symphony to convert all my old Lotus spreadsheets to Open Office formats.
Symphony did a better job importing the formatting than Open Office.
But once converted Open office opens them fine and is what I prefer.
Its a good idea to convert to a later format so that you can make use of new features of the latest software but still retain all the work you put into the originals.
